The Rural Communities Trust was formed in 1982 to help people living in rural communities
The Rural Communities Trust recognises that living in a rural community can mean facing barriers to education, health and other services.
Each year the Rural Communities Trust approves grants to individuals, families and groups with a diverse range of needs. So far, nearly 850 grants have been approved, totalling over $600,000.
Funds come from member organisations, which include: PGG Wrightson, Merial NZ Ltd, Federated Farmers of NZ Inc, ANZ National Bank Ltd, Transpower New Zealand Ltd, Telecom, Farmers Mutual Group and Genetic Technologies Ltd.
